Hey folks. We hope you all had a great Easter and ate oodles of chocolate.

Today we’re happy to announce the dates for the Edge Radio Presenter Training Course. The course runs over the month of May for two nights a week (Tuesday and Thursday). This training course is compulsory for all new presenters who are coming onboard for the new Winter Program Schedule.

This course is very much open to the public. That means even if you’re not currently a part of the Edge family you’re more than welcome to participate in the course and learn all about Edge Radio, the community radio sector, media law, and some totally awesome radio skills. We’ve designed the training course to give you more time in studio learning about the particle side of producing a top notch radio show.

The program costs $180. This includes the membership fee for Tasmanian Youth Broadcasters Inc and your studio access card. Existing Edge Radio presenters who would like to brush on the course material are welcome to attend for a small fee of $40.

So here’s the breakdown.

New Presenter: $180 (Includes access card and TYB Inc. membership fee)
Non-Presenter: $150 (Just the training course)
Current Presenter: $40 (Includes TYB Inc. membership fee)

Training dates:

Session One – Tuesday 8th of May @ 6pm – 8pm  - Welcome to Edge Radio – Introduction, Tour, and Station Handbook
Session Two – Thursday 10th of May @ 6pm – 8pm – Industry Context and Media Law
Session Three – Tuesday 15th of May @ 6pm – 8pm – Program Preparation and Program Presentation
Session Four - Thursday 17th of May @ 6pm – 7pm – Panel and Studio Operation
Session Five – Tuesday 22nd of May @ 6pm – 7pm – Let’s Get On-Air
Session Six – Thursday 24th of May @ 6pm – 7pm – More On-air Time.
